Hey, time up!

This morning I was too lazy to wake up at 6am when the alarm clock buzzed to take Cookies down for her morning walk due to the rain and cool weather I continue my sleep.
At 6.30am, I heard some noises. Cookies was the one, she use her paws to push her porcelain food bowl around to create some noises. In the end, I woke up from my sleep, got change up and took her down for her walk.

Birthday

I had a pre-celebration on Sunday for my birthday. I was treated for a nice meal. Yesterday, hubby ordered my birthday cake from The Patisser, my favorite cake shop. It is a chocolate with raspberry flavor. What next? For sure, some people will start to ask how old are you?

Hmm, not that old! Still got lots of space on the cake for candles.

Cookies was tasked to sing a birthday song. Did Cookies sing me a birthday song? No, she can't sing. She bite on her toy cake that will produce the melody.

Thanks to all the birthday greetings and well wishes from my siblings and friends. It is really great that friends of mine still remember my birthday.

Down with vomiting

Cookies was not well for the past week. She vomited many times and refused to eat. Finally on Saturday, we decided to take Cookies to visit the vet to find out what happened to her.

She had a slightly dropped in her weight. We took sometime to coax her to sit on the big weighing scale. Her weight that day was 13.8kg. The vet, Dr Tan for very patience with her as Cookies was a afraid of him and the environment. He try ways to coax Cookies. Finally Cookies gave him a hand shake. Then after, Cookies face her bum to the vet during the whole examination period in the room. So rude of Cookies.

We came to conclusion Cookies most likely had taken some contaminated water that causes her to fall sick.

That visit spend us $74. Is really expensive.

No vomiting the whole day. Wow just a magic touch by the vet, we spend 70 over dollars just for that.

Cookies and me

Hubby is away for 5 days for his reservist. It had been a long time since I am the last person to leave home. Today I was a bit worry that Cookies will wayang. She went to the door there and sit there. Smiling at me. In my heart, I was a little worry. But out of my surprise, she is so cute and sweet. When I approached to open the door she moved away and sat near the shoe bench extended her paw and say bye bye to me. What a lovely gesture of her.

Hope that the next few days, every thing will go well.

Cookies's Friend

Finally found some time to blog things that happened on Sunday.
We did some thing to a dog by the name of Mica. What up? Good or bad?

Of course is something good. We "babysit" Mica as her owners are all out. We took Mica out for a car ride and a trip to the groomer to cut her long nails as she had not been groom for many months.

My hubby also brought Mica a present - a collar for her. Bright red in colour. By the way Mica is a husky.

Not forgetting about Cookies, she joined us for the trip. She is so cute. She smile when she saw Mica wrestle with the groomer. Naughty Cookies.

Oh no! Is she going to wayang?

This morning (16th August 09) Cookies vomited while we were getting ready to go to church. I was preparing her toys and some treats for her. Decided not to give her the usual treat, dental bone. Just a few pieces of biscuits for her.

As usual my hubby gave Cookies her toys and her treats before we went out. After a few seconds she looked at the stuff, she run towards the door while I was opening the metal gate. I quickly closed the gate. In my heart, what was she up to? Oh no, was she going to stage her wayang act since a long time she had not done that.

I went to the kitchen straight, opened the packet of dental bone took out one and passed to hubby to give it to her. That settle her down. She happily took that, we went out. It ended peacefully.

She had taken seven chicken wings

No Dinner For Hubby

Cookies had a great dinner. This happened a few months back.
I left a plate of deep fried chicken wings and some potatoes on the dining table. Those food was for my hubby dinner. What shocked me was just a short 10 -15mins shower, Cookies ate all the food Nothing were left on the plate.

I could not believe, I looked every where but could not even find the bones of the chicken. That really shocked me. She ate up all the bones.

Guess how many pieces of chicken wings she ate?

Cookies at the west coast dog run park

Some pictures of cookies at the dog run.

The Lost Day

One of the Saturday as usual, after showering Cookies I took her orange bed to wash. Oops, I dropped the bed. It dropped down to the neighbour's kitchen window ledge. I tried many attempts to pick it back but failed.

In my mind, the only thing was Oh No she will get angry with me. Went down to the neighbour unit no one answer the door bell. Left a note for them to call us when they are back.

At the mean time, hubby and I went off to look for a new bed for her.  We managed to find one.

Did we get back the bed?
With god grace, we did manage to get back. At the same time, we got to know another neighbour.

How does Cookies look like?

Let me disclose how Cookies look like?
First fews weeks us

To our HORROR!

What so horrible about her? I mention that she is a lovely dog.
Wow, she was different when we brought her home this time round as a first time pet owner.
One of the night she slept on the sofa which she is not suppose to do so. We told her off, but she refused to obey. We took a cane and action that we would cane her, which we did not. Just to scare her.

She did a lot of horrible stuffs. Destroy our house stuffs. Scratch our main doors.
Everyday is a stress getting out and coming home. Every night for the first two weeks, when I reached home, the moment I opened the door she ran out of the house. I need to spend an hour to coax and catch her back.

I also roped in my mum to help me out to go up to our place in the morning to look after her.
The whole episodes of playing catching lasted for two weeks. She is really a Cookies Monster during those two weeks.

Finally, we decided to get a dog trainer in. We found Kenny from Puppy Love. He was very patient with us and we learned a lot from him. Great that he respond to our desperate call for help that quick. Now Cookies is really a lovely dog to be with.

Naming Our Dog

Our friend who foster the dog, named her Cookie.
When we got our dog, my hubby add a 's' behind her existing name , Cookies.
Sometimes, we have some problem in our conservation, for example when we want to ask each other do you want to have some Cookies and Cream ice-cream. When she heard Cookies this word she respond. There goes the problem. We tried to skip the words Cookies or use other words to replace.

Breed of our dog

We do not know what breed the dog is. It is a cross breed. It looks a little like a gaint version of JRT, fox terrier and many more. Not sure what breed it is classified as.

Never the less, it is a lovely dog. Some intro about our dog

Breed - like what I had mention, cross breed
Colour - Black / Brown / White
Looks - Medium built, sharp pointed ear, long legs, patches of black brown on the body
Gender - Female

How we got our dog

It had been sometimes that hubby wanted a dog. Finally we got a dog. We adopted a dog The dog was starved before it was rescued by a kind soul. $5 was what the kind soul paid to the abusive owner to buy over the dog. It was saved.
The dog was brought to a foster house before adoption. That was our friend's place. The first time we saw the dog, me not that interested in her. Her face colour and her body colour was totally two different shade. She was bony, shy and afraid. That night we took the dog back for a trial to see if we can cope and have some bonding with the dog. With our friend help, we took the dog back. Our friend help us to orientate the dog to our place and done the house breaking for us. The "Do and Don't". That night we kept ourselves busy. Not knowing whether the dog was comfortable with us, staying at our place. We kept waking up in the night to check on the dog. That really made us busy.
The next day we brought back the dog to our friend place as there was another family wanted the dog. They also took the dog back home for a trial. Before we adopted the dog, long story about who would have the dog. We got the dog.The actual date, I could not remember. The dog was with us almost 2years.

Our first dog

This bog is started to jot memory lane with our dog. Cookies.
