It had been a long time since I last updated about Cookies. There was some renovation work carried out at our neighbor place. Everyday for a week, Cookies was shuttled down to my mummy's place. She was very happy about it. She enjoyed herself at my mummy's place. She was given lot of attention, lots of treats and yummy food. She had pasta with carrot and cheese for her dinner.

Last Tuesday, she sustain a fall and got a cut at her inner back leg. She was trying to chase cats. My brother was upset that her buddy, Cookies was injured. That day she stay overnight at my mummy's place as she refused to go home. Guess that it might be a bit of pain when walking. By the way she had recovered.

Saturday itself was a special day. In the morning she visited the vet. She got a mystery guest visited. That is my brother, her buddy. She was so happy to see him at the clinic, When her turn came, all of us when into the consultation room. This time round, food, treats did not work on her. She struggled away. Dr Quek, had some difficult injecting her as she is not cooperating. Dr Quek provided us with a solution. Hugged her tight and pad her head to distract her attention. This method work perfectly. Two injection was administered.

In the evening, we celebrated Cookeis's buddy birthday. This time round we tried an Australian restaurant, boomerang at Robertson Quay. The pizza and spicy wings were among the best that we ordered. The rest of the food items were average. This particular restaurant, charge cake corkage, $30. Wow that was too expensive. After the meal, we went to a nearby restaurant for a dinner and had the cake cutting.

It had been a long since I updated about Cookies. She is doing well and active, naughty at times. Put on a fair a bit of weight. Slighlty too round. Not to used to her chubby stage. Therefore she was on intense weight lost programme. Took her out for her run every day in the evening. Climbing up the hill or run around the estate. Manage to get her slim down.

Yesterday, she was not feeling too well. Vomitted a fair amount of yellowish fluid at the bushes near the play ground. There after she took a rest at the play ground. I was eager to get back as it was raining. She was smart enough to find a shelter for herself at the playground. That portion was shelter. Even though I brought along an umbrella, I still got wet. Plea with her for a while, after 10 minutes of sitting there she finally moved. Knowing that Cookies hated to get herself wet, I took the umbrella to shield her more than myself. That really funny!

Guest

We invited a few of our church friends over to our place for a meal. Took some time to get the food prepared. Nice fellowship time. A great evening! Did Cookies enjoy herself? I think she did enjoy herself.

She was pretty ok with our friends. Looking forward for some other friends to pop by again.

Nightmare

A walk with Cookies turned out to be a nightmare. A short stroll away from our place, hubby was stung by a gaint insect. Bright orange with black straps. Look like bee, hornet stuff. Not too sure what was that. I could see hubby in great pain, at that moment i could not do much to help him. The immediate action was remove that big insect from his head. That insect stung on hubby scalp. I could see hubby also kneel down in pain and scream ouch, ouch!

Went to the car straight. Our place do not have any 24hrs clinic. We are not too familiar with that area as we shifted there not long ago. Called a church friend with his help we went down to Holland Village. The clinic is Silvercross. Horrible clinic, with super lousy nurse. No knowledge at all. After mention to them at the register counter that Hubby was stung by that gaint insect in severe pain, pain radiating to the neck, shoulder and arm. Tbey did not even priotize him to consult the doctor first instead listed us on queeue no. That really made me mad. There came our turn, the lady doctor on duty after hearing the syptoms advise us to go to A&E now. Mention to her the nurse attitude, she did not seem to understand what I am putting across. No time to waste, we left the clinic. Hubby was really strong, he drive down to the A&E at Gleneagles Hosptial as I have no driving liciense. Felt prety handicap at those moments.

At Gleneagles, we also waited for quite some time as Hubby conditon was not serious. Oxygen level was good. He was given an antihistamine injection and some medication to take home. On 3 days MC. The doctor at A&E was not very professonial at all. Leaving the choice to the patient. Posting question such as "if you wish to admit for observation we can do so. It private!" Calling himself a doctor, not knowing what the best for patient. Getting the patient to make the decision. I made the decision for Hubby. I will observe him at home instead. That is really scary. It really make people wonder is the medical school training standards have went down or the doctors are not commited to their job. Just treating each patient they see as a ailment or disease instead of treating them holistic. I do came across doctor label patient as cancer at bed 1. Not even knowing their patient name. That really horrible.

After the injection, Hubby was advise not too drive. I could not drive. Cookies was in the car as she tagged along. She was a really sweet and good dog. She stayed in the car patiently waiting for us. We were very greatful to Elder Adrian and his wife Doreen extending their help to us. They came all the way after the evening church service and drove hubby car and us back. Without their help, I am really left handicapped as I could not drive.

With God grace and those who prayed for Hubby. Thank you!. He is recovering. Pain is getting better.

A visit to the vet

This the first time I took Cookies to vet alone without Hubby. We stay pretty near the clinic. An evening appointment was booked for Cookies to see her usual vet, Dr Quek. What happen to Cookies? She was down with some rashes, pimples and red dirty ear. Taking Cookies to the vet always had been a adventurous in the past. She will always wayang when she was a distance away from the clinic. I prayed before going to the clinic. Pack her treat and water bottle, off we go. We brisk walk to the clinic.

We took less than 15mins to reach the clinic. What a breeze! Swift and quick opened the door, Cookies walk in the clinic without wayang, took her weight with some coaching, went into the consultation room without any pulling and resistant.

The only slight problem was she refused to let the vet see her ear. After some coaching and treats given by the vet she allow Dr Quek to see vet. She is really cute, she hide behind me, put her front paws on my shoulder and peep her head out to look at the vet.

The only bad part was the bill. It really burned out pocket a hole. Total damage 100 over dollars. She got some steroid and antibiotics for her itch and ear infection.

She is getting better. Hope that she will recover quickly.

Cookies had ended her holiday stay at my mum's place. She had put on some weight. Look a little more well built. Well feed at my mum's place. She is very happy with her stay there. My dad also pamper her very much. He even went to the supermarket to buy her potato and boiled for her to eat. Lots of fun, play and food. She had all her favorite food over the 5 days. Dragon fruit, carrots, white bread and many more......... What a fun time she had!

Where Cookies?

We are out for a short trip. Where Cookies gone to this time? Pet hotel, pet resort, stay at home alone or? This time Cookies went some where fun and special to her. A place with lots of attention, fun, treats and many more! Cookies was so calm this time when we started packing our stuffs for our trip. In the past she would kept following us around. We also pack her luggage for her as she is also going for her holiday. What she brought along were, her bed, her pet dog, toys, bowls, treats........ Doggy on holiday also got lots of stuffs to pack what more human go on holiday.

Heavy breakfast

It another usual weekday morning. Both, hubby and me need to go to work. As usual I get ready hubby's breakfast and Cookies treats on the dining table before leaving for work. Today before I left home, Cookies had finished her food. She must be hungry to finish them and ate so early around 6plus close to 7am.

What happen next? Is time for hubby to get to work. Hubby had forgotten his breakfast, hot dog bun. Who got it? Cookies of course. Cookies got the chance to eat the forbidden food that she was eyeing since yesterday evening when I brought back the bun. She was sniffing around and jumping up and down when I try to lift the plastic bag of bun away from her. She got what she wanted this morning.

What a nice treat for her. She must had enjoyed herself.

Breakfast with a friend cum neighbour

We met someone which we knew years ago in church (now is a neighbour of ours, same block) early in the morning at the lift lobby when we were about to take Cookies to go for her morning walk. That morning, we decided to go to Botanic Garden for our breakfast. It was pretty near to our place that we are staying right now.

She joined us along for breakfast. It was a great time. Cookies have her fair share of fun too as she always enjoy car ride.

Moving

Our place renovation finally completed. We had shifted into our new place. There are still some here and there to be touched up by the contractors. Lots of cleaning and unpacking to be done.
The past few days, I was unpacking, washing and ironing. All these had occupied my time from morning till late night.

The day before we moved, we brought Cookies to view the new place. She was very happy, and out a sudden she started to run up and down. Jumping from the steps. So much movement. The place was pretty dusty and sandy feel. We started washing the floor with my mummy's help and hubby started to help out in the cleaning of the wardrobe.

Thursday is the big day for the move. Hubby did not took leave in morning as the mover at first agreed to shift in the afternoon. Due to the last minute changes, Hubby was not able to apply leave. The mover was slightly late, but they were very quick in moving all the stuffs in place as they have 6 of them. I was busy instructing them where to place the boxes and furniture. Our new neighbour were very helpful. She came over and offer me help and lunch, but I declined the offer as I was able to manage. Lunch, would be pack by Hubby. Thank God for the fine weather for the moving and all the stuff from the warehouse were back.

Friday, Saturday morning we started our unpacking, cleaning .......... moving stuff from my mummy's place where we stayed for four months while our place was under renovation.

What about Cookies? Cookies was not left out. We finally move in to our place on Saturday. My brother send Cookies and also pick up mummy and sister to our new place. We had pizza delivered as I had nothing in kitchen to prepare for dinner. Even there is, I am too tired to do so.
Cookies had a hard time, sleeping in the night. The whole night she was pacing up and down. Coming to the room to disturb me and getting my attention. I woke up many times. sayang her. I was too tired, and did not bother her the last few rounds. She quietly slept on the floor beside our bed, at the side where Hubby slept. Hubby got a shock to see her there when he woke up.

There came, Sunday morning, all ready to set for church. Cookies was still a little blur when we left her alone. A while later, she started to bark and cry. When we get back, the house was in pretty good condition. We were a little surprised. We thought she would scratch the door like what she did at our old place.

Monday PH, we took her to mummy's place as we need to do our grocery shopping and some other stuff. Cookies was very happy!

Tuesday, Hubby first day setting off to work from our new place. Got there on time. As for me, I took another leave to clear, clean and tidy up the house. Here come Wednesday, a day of challenge where both us need to go to work. I left for work first, Hubby was left to deal with Cookies if she intend to wayang. She just bark when Hubby left. At least not too bad.

Prepare cookies for another move

Its time for another round of packing, unpacking and moving. Our home is finally ready after a long wait for months for the renovation to be completed.

Cookies visited her new home on Monday morning. My brother took his day off sending Cookies and me to our new place. At the same time, Cookies took my brother around the estate. We had fun on that Monday morning.

Cookies will be missed by my siblings and daddy. Promise, Cookies will come and visit all of you.

Tom will be a tiring day for me. The mover will shift all the boxes and furniture to our home early in the morning. Hope to finish unpacking the stuffs before getting back to work next week. The Monday PH will be a great help to us.

A Fright

What had happened!

Just keep the whole story short and sweet.

Cookies went outing on Sunday afternoon. We took her to Sentosa. As usual we were there for some decoration work. Hubby took Cookies for her walk around the cafe the where my mum and I were there decorating.

Cookies sat at the pavement, a distance away from where I was. Hubby as usual unleash her. Out of a sudden, Cookies decided to make her move. Hubby thought Cookies was curious and would like to explore the area. In a split moment Cookies started to chase two peacocks, not sure where did the peacocks came from. Cookies ran very fast after the two peacocks. They were much bigger than Cookies. Oops, this gave Hubby a fright and shock. Hubby kept shouting out for her and telling her to come back. She did not respond. I knew some thing was not right. I ran towards the direction and shouted for a her. We could hear the peacocks making lot of noise. We do not understand what that meant. The worst was, we did not know which direction Cookies ran to and we could not see them.

Cookies responded to my call. No injury seen on her. She looked very happy when she ran out from the bushes. What a relief for Hubby to see Cookies appear once again!

Canpoy

Last Saturday, we took Cookies to Bishan dog run park. Bishan park underwent some renovation. The dog run park was relocated and it was much better than before. As usual Cookies was not interested with the dogs at the park. After linger there for a while, we left.

On the way to the pet friendly cafe, Canpoy Cookies was greeted by a Sheltland. That particular dog was very interested in Cookies. Cookies shown no interest at all. We moved on our way to the cafe.

At the cafe, we saw some other dog. Some time later, the Sheltland appear as the owner were at the cafe having there breakfast too.

12 Feb 2011 was a special day for us. It was hubby birthday. Age of hubby? Make a guess then.

That evening was delicate to celebrate hubby's birthday together with my sister, brother, mummy and forgetting Cookies. Something special this year. Same as every year hubby's birthday the same question I would ask him - Do you want me to buy you a birthday cake? Out of my surprise this year, he agreed for me to get him one.

In the morning, Hubby was needed to go back to work OT. That really not nice at all. Birthday fall on Saturday, need to work! No matter what, Hubby left for work around nine plus in the morning after having one of his favourite food vegetarian mee hoon.

Late afternoon, mummy and me went down to the cake shop to collect Hubby's birthday cake. That day afternoon was pretty hot. By evening a little a disappointed. The sky turn grey and start to shower. I got a call from the restaurant manager, to request if we would like to shift the time much later due to the rain. Reply was, I will monitor the weather myself and will still stick to seven pm. I started to pray for fine weather. The prayer was answered. By six in the evening, the sky was clear. We were very grateful. We started our walk to the restaurant.

This restaurant has a very cute name - Bar Bar Black sheep. A dog friendly one. This particular place serve 3 different type of food, Thai, Western and Indian.

What next? Of course time to sing birthday song and the cake. Hubby must be a little pai seh he omitted the portion for us to sing him a birthday song. Got a candle for his to blow and made a wish. What wish did he make? I don't have the answer for that. Isn't wish is meant to be kept as a secret.

Chinese New Year Visit

We took Cookies up to aunt's place for a short visit during the Chinese New Year. This was not the first time we went to my aunt place. The only different this time was that Hubby did not drive. We took a ride from my brother. Sister, brother,hubby, me and Cookies. As usual Cookies sat beside the driver seat. Cookies love front seat.

Happy Chinese New Year

This year is a special year for hubby, Cookies and me. Not like the usual, we stayed at mummy's place this year. Therefore we got the chance to view live firework. When the clock struck 12midnight, the blasting of fire crackers follow by the beautiful fireworks which last for a couple of minutes. There after Cookies start to howl and bark. So cute!

On the second day of new year, we took Cookies out for a long walk. We went to a dog friendly cafe, Kith Cafe at Roberston Quay with my siblings. The food and drink is average. Not too pricey. Affordable.

After the meal, we went for a long walk with Cookies. Cookies was very happy that day. From Roberston Quay, we went pass Great World City, River Valley, Killney Road, Oxley Road, UE Square and then back home.

Temporary Home

Cookies, Hubby and me, 3 of us shifted to my mum place temporary while our home is under renovation. The shifting of the things to the warehouse and getting stuff to my place is really a sian task to do. Up and down so many trips as there were too many stuffs to bring to my mum place.

To make things much easy, Hubby drop Cookies off early in the morning at my mum place so that during the shifting she will not be around guarding and barking at the movers. All these events happen on the 1st week of the year 2011. Finally found time to blog the event down.

We settle well at my mum place. Cookies is a little boring as there are little veiw and greenery around the place for her to walk and view. What she is most happy about is, there are many people around her that shower her lots of love, sayang her and play with her. Most important she enjoy the company of my mum who is with her almost the whole day.

That about all for the time.
